Ken Benson's Rules For Starting Karate Training
Acknowledge your starting point.
If you haven't trained or exercised in a long time, enter the physical training at a slow and gradual pace.
Proper and safe form is more important than speed and power. An injury could stop your training for weeks or months and nothing is more frustrating.
Commit to regular training
Two training sessions a week helps your brain and body commit techniques to memory. This frequency allows students to advance more in each class as less time is spent reviewing.
